Ogden Water are carrying out a full turn-key effluent plant installation for a global advanced electronics manufacturer. The site has an existing effluent treatment plant, however, major upgrades were desperately required from both compliance and health & safety viewpoints.

It was of paramount importance that the ongoing upgrades did not disrupt the day-to-day operation of the current system during both installation and the eventual changeover as any losses in production time would have severe financial impacts on the business.

After consultations and design discussions, the first part of the project is now complete and the swap onto the new system will be completed in the coming weeks.

The primary purpose of the plant is balancing and pH correction of the effluent. Two double-skinned, 35m3 balancing tanks were required.

Both tanks include recirculation pumps to maintain a homogenous effluent quality and radar level control.

The recirculation manifolds also serve as pH correction - this contains pH monitoring and automated chemical dosing pumps to maintain a pH value within the consent limits.
Double-bunded and heated chemical storage tanks were also installed for completion.

As the effluent treatment plant is crucial to site's operations, the entire system installed is duty/standby - 2x balancing systems with individual pipework runs, equipment and monitoring.
